There is a good story here. I am looking forward to the next book as I felt like we didn't get into the whole convergence/Pyxis story in this one. Based on that I am still a bit confused on what it all means. I hope the next book goes into more of the detail.

With that said, there is a lot of background covered in this story. Namely the relationships between the main characters with a little bit of teenage angst.

Overall a good (and quick) read.

4.5 stars

I enjoyed this book and the idea behind it. It was a quick read - as Chase and Ember were running/hiding the majority of the book. A lot of action but there is also a story here.

You learn about the life Chase has had since he left for Chicago (before the war), how things progressed when he came back (to live next door), how finally, how he ended up where he was when everything went down (that's all I will say about that).

Although she is a strong character, I found Ember to be selfish. She finally gets it at the end but throughout the book she just didn't seem to take into account the sacrifices some of those around her were making. I found it frustrating but was glad she redeemed herself at the end.

I am looking forward to the next book to find out what happens next as well as learn more about the other characters. I am curious to learn about Sean and Becca as well as see where Chase and Ember's characters go next.

This book had my attention from the very beginning. It is an interesting world the author has created and castes dictate everything.

Charlie is a strong character which I like. She does what she feels is right but thinks about her actions...i appreciate that she doesn't just blindly hope for the best. Max is great. Very protective of Charlie but not in a suffocating way. I would have liked to know more about what he found intriguing about Charlie instead of him being so vague about it when she asked. With that said, I still liked him. I figured there were things Max and Xander were hiding but was surprised at who they really were to each other. Also, despite the fact that Xander wanted something from Charlie, he wasn't trying to coerce her into doing what he wanted, which was nice.

I did feel like Aron got shafted a bit as he was there early on and then seemed to vanish. He comes back but his role in the story seemed off from one segment to the next.

There is a true beginning, middle and end here even though this is a series. Those who have read my reviews before know that killer cliffhangers sometimes make me angry so even though there was a nice lead in to the next book, this one had a conclusion. Complete win!

Very much looking forward to the next book to find out how Charlie adjusts, read more about Max and find out what is going on with the old queen's essence.

Review to come.

I enjoyed this book. There is action, sadness, love, anger...a lot of things that make a good story. The story progressed and even though this is part of a series, I felt like there was a clear beginning, middle and end. There is a definite continuation and everyone knows how impatient I am with waiting for the next installment of anything but I am happy there wasn't a huge cliffhanger.

The interaction with the Council pretty much drew a line in the sand for where Aiden and Alex's relationship (or non-relationship) can go. I am interested to see how that progresses when the story picks up considering how things wrapped up here. I can understand the confusion Alex has when it comes to Seth. she is still hung up on her feelings for Aiden but because of what she saw during the council meeting, her mind knows it isn't possible for them to be together. Aiden realizes this as well and they are trying to deny their feelings to protect each other.

I am looking forward to the next book to find out how things pick back up.

I enjoyed this story and will watch for the next book. It started out a bit slow for me but once the story got into the details, I was hooked. The soul mates plot line isn't something new but there is a twist that weaves throughout the story andleads to the cliffhanger. It was well written and I found it to be very descriptive (at times I will admit to skimming to get back into the story).

I look forward to reading the next book.

I loved this book and couldn't put it down. It had some mystery, some angst, some love, cute boys...everything you would want in a great story.

I almost cringed when the last chapter ended but thank the lord for epilogues...I may have hurt the person sitting next to me on the plane if I was kept hanging on that one.

The characters are likable and although I found Violet's girlfriends annoying at times (maybe it was because I just wanted her to spend all of her time with Jay) they were important.

I won't do a recap of the story but am curious to find out more about why Violet has this gift. It was alluded to in that it was passed down from someone in her family but that was the extent of the background on it. I hope the next books give more background about it.

How am I going to wait for the next book.... I loved this story.

All of the characters were well written (the good and the bad). The author made me feel the conflict within Cate.....does she protect her sisters or be with the man she loves..such a hard decision. I have no words for Finn, I love him as a character. Protective, smart, handsome....just love him.

I am sad Cate wasn't given the opportunity to talk to Finn when she left and we also didn't get to see how Paul reacts (outside of a jaw clench). I am seriously waiting anxiously to see where the next book picks up and how the story progresses..I have so many questions yet to be answered (Where is Zara, what about the prophecy, how can she stand to leave Finn...Ahhh).

Read this book...really, go do it now.
