Sinfully Wed by Kathleen Ayers is a new book in her Five Deadly Sins series and it's off to a promising start!

I love Ayers books. They are quick reads and she builds out the characters really well in a short amount of time. On top of that, there's usually plenty of spice and the stories are always engaging.

In this installment, we meet Odessa and Jordan. Both are in positions they aren't really happy with, the major difference being that Jordan is willing to make it work and Odessa will do ANYTHING to get out of it. While I thought Odessa's actions were sometimes a bit over the top, Ayers got the point across that she truly would do whatever it took to get out of marrying.

If you're looking for a quick and page turning read, check this one out. I'll definitely be picking up the next book in the series when it's out.

This was my first book by Jennifer Haymore but it won't be the last. Her Scandalous Scot is the second book in the Highland Knights series but I don't believe I missed anything by not reading book 1 first. I suppose I will find out though as I plan to pick up more books by Haymore.

I enjoyed this book. Camden McLeod is the mmc and as a Highland Knight, he is sworn to protect the crown. As the book opens, we find he has been put on a security detail in which he is protecting someone who routinely visits a brothel and the only bright spot to this is that Camden has a run in with an innocent he never expected to be there.

Lady Esme Hawkins is an author of racy romances but she will do everything she can to protect her family. Not only because she loves them...she (they) have a secret that could damage them all. Because of her writing, she carefully disguises herself so she can do research for her books. When she comes face to face with Camden, she's drawn in and doesn't refuse a kiss. Unfortunately, she has an engagement on the horizon and she can't / won't entertain thoughts around doing anything with Camden that could harm her family.

As the story picks up, Cam has decided that he wants Esme for his own. But to do so, he’ll need to give up his rakish ways, embrace his role as heir to the despicable Earl of Sutton, and snuff out a deadly threat to his brothers in arms. He also embraces Esme as she is and recognizes that everything she does isn't necessarily for herself. Because of that, he makes some questionable decisions that put Esme in a position where she is having to justify / face things she never wanted to. I'll admit, Cam was definitely a bit overbearing and made his decisions based on what he wanted and not what Esme wanted. In the end, he was trying to do what he thought was right but he definitely needed to go a different route in my opinion.

Overall, I enjoyed this story. I thought the characters were well developed and the story was interesting. If you're looking for a historical romance to pick up, I recommend picking this book up!

The Poetics of Passion is the first book I've read by Delphine Ross and it won't be the last. I happened across this on Netgalley and it sounded interesting so I took a chance and I'm glad I did! I'll admit, this one started off a bit slow for me but once the story picked up, I was all in.

Musa Bartham is our fmc and she has a secret. To support her destitute family after her father’s disappearance, she’s been publishing steamy poetry under the pen name of Felicity Vita. Unfortunately she has found out a few things that impact her ability to continue publishing. First, her sister is offered to be sponsored in society by a great aunt and nothing can reflect negatively on her if she is going to make a great match. And second, her publisher is bought by an heiress who doesn't believe in publishing books of what she considers questionable morality. As Musa tries to figure out what to do...she lands on an idea to publish a children's book but she'll need an illustrator to make it all come together.

Enter Sebastian. Sebastian Atkinson is an artist reduced to working as a printer to support his sisters but he also has a secret. He's been corresponding (secretly and anonymously) with Felicity Vita and he is determined to meet her in person. When he shows up at the publishing house, he's faced with Musa who gets him to agree to illustrate her book.

As they work together, he begins to suspect Musa may be Felicity Vita. Egged on by his best friend, an ambitious journalist desperate for a break, Seb seeks to unmask Musa’s secret identity. But the closer Seb comes to the truth, the more they are attracted to each other. I loved the banter between them and when push came to shove, they never gave up on what they wanted.

This story was well written, had well developed characters, and a story that kept me engaged. Musa was such a great character who was willing to do whatever it took to save her family and I couldn't help but be angry at her mother for checking out. And Sebastian too!

I'll definitely be checking out the next book in the series as I am curious to see what happens next for this group of characters. Add this to your TBR if you're looking for a new historical romance!

Sinfully Tempted is book two in The Five Deadly Sins books by Kathleen Ayers. I always appreciate a Kathleen Ayers book as it's generally a quick read with a good story. This one falls into that category and my only wish was that there were more steamy parts. I also recommend reading this as part of the series as there are definitely references to things and people that are explained in detail in book one.

This book focuses on Tamsin Sinclair, the sister of the mmc in book one of this series. She's always felt that she was the reason she and her family were banished to the country and barely had enough to survive so when she finds herself in London, she and her family history seem to be all everyone ever talks about. When the book opens, it's the end of the season and Tamsin is working to make it through one last ball. The last thing she expected was to find herself in the midst of a potential firestorm that could ruin everything for her brother and her little sister but...here she is.

The Duke of Ware is considered odd by the Ton. He was the third son and never expected to become the duke. He also has never aspired to be a womanizer like his father or brothers so he focuses more on Etymology than his dukedom. At the last ball of the season, which is at his aunt's home, he finds himself in the gardens looking for a moth...what he didn't expect was to find it on the knee of Tamsin Sinclair.

I really liked these two characters together. The banter was great and when they finally did realize they belong together, it was well done. I'll definitely be picking up the other books as I'm curious to see how things turn out for all the other Sinclair siblings. If you're looking for a new historical romance to pick up, consider this series!

I came across this book on Netgalley and was intrigued. It's been a while since I've gotten a YA vampire story so I thought I would pick it up.

The story kicks off introducing Victoria, an 18 year old who lost her mother and sister and is now just pushing through her last year of school and when she comes across a random note, she takes a chance and finds herself transported into another world and time. This is where she crosses paths with Dominic, who happens to be a prince and a vampire. It also just so happens that she's known to Dominic and has been entering the Kingdom for the last nine years...unfortunately for Victoria, she doesn't remember a thing.

This book was interesting enough to push me to finish it but I had some challenges with it. None of the characters were really winning me over. The story itself was fine and as I said, the amnesia, the secrets Dominic has, and all the things the Queen was doing was something that kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen but in the end, I'm not sure if I will pick up the remaining books.

Although this book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, this does appear to be a completed series so if you're interested in a YA book with vampires, you could grab this one and read all the way through.

I picked up How to Ruin a Wedding by Sophie Andrews as someone I know was raving about how good it was and I wasn't disappointed. If you're looking for a book version of the movie My Best Friend's Wedding (ugh...I think I just aged myself with that reference...), then this is it!

Tilly has been in love with her best friend forever and she has quietly been waiting for him to realize he loves her as more than just a friend but when he hooks up with someone at a wedding and ultimately proposes to the girl, Tilly finds herself in a situation she never really imagined she would be...trying to break up the engagement. As part of her strategy, she reaches out to the new fiance's old boyfriend, Zach, to get him to help her out and that's when things get interesting.

Zack was probably my favorite thing about this book. The chemistry he and Tilly had was amazing and I wanted her to stop pushing him to engage with the other girl much sooner than she did. He was way more interesting than Tyler and while she had history with Tyler, Zack truly invested his time to get to know her and paid attention.

If you're looking for a Contemporary Romance that has interesting characters, comedy, and some spice, pick this one up. I flew through it and will definitely pick up more from Sophie Andrews in the future.
