I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next book to release! This was my first book by Jessica Rubinowski but won't be my last. She has created an interesting world and engaging characters that will have you turning the pages to see what happens next! If you're looking for a new YA Fantasy, definitely pick this one up!

This one was just ok for me. I have really enjoyed Shupe's prior books but for some reason these characters just didn't click with / for me. I LOVE the cover and even though I say what I said about the book / characters, I'm still definitely going to be checking out the next book in the series.

Kerrigan Byrne is one of my favorite historical romance authors because her stories never disappoint. This book was everything I was hoping for to tie up this series. The characters are definitely some of my favorites (I feel like I probably say that every time) and Francesca's story was one that had me feeling so many feelings for her! As the story unfolds and I learned more about both Francesca and our hero (he has several identities), I couldn't help but hope they both get their happily ever after.
This book has danger, deception, swoons, and everything else in between. If you are looking for a great historical romance, make sure you pick up this series (and this book), you won't regret it!

I was so happy to hear that Althea's brothers were getting a series! I loved this book and appreciated that Heath took me back a bit into the history (back beyond even where Althea's story started) so I could really understand what happened. Griff and Kathryn are great characters and I loved the way their relationship progressed. Kathryn didn't put up with any of his crap and while I don't always love the "I'm not good enough for you" approach, it worked in this one because of what happened with Griff and his family.
This was a great start to what I expect to be another fantastic series by Heath and I'm here for it all. If you're looking for a new Historical Romance series to start, grab this one and if you haven't read the Sins for All Seasons books...you definitely should as they lead right into this one. It isn't required (at least I didn't think so) but it's good so you should.

This is the first book I've read by Anabelle Bryant and I was intrigued by the summary and love the cover. With that said, I enjoyed this book...just not as much as I wanted to. I was absolutely interested in the story of these character's paths continuing to cross and eventually finding themselves not only working toward the same goal of figuring out what happened to a missing seamstress, but also attracted to each other despite their social stations, Where I struggled was with the characters - Scarlett and Ambrose. There wasn't anything really that drew me into their personal stories. I also wished there was more content around Scarlett's 'Maidens of Mayhem'. We really only get a few sparse interactions and they weren't really that involved in the story.
All of that said, I did enjoy this one and I'll definitely be picking up the next one if only to get to know the Maidens of Mayhem further as I was intrigued by each character introduced and would like to know their stories.

I really enjoyed this book and am so glad I was able to check it out! Jillian Boehme did a fantastic job of building out the characters and the world they inhabit. I loved the idea of these two characters, Mara and Alac being drawn to each other but also the conflict of being on different sides of the fight...technically.
Mara is strong and smart and loyal. She's also willing to do whatever she needs to in order to protect not only those she loves, but also those she is responsible for. As someone who has magic, she knows she can do so much for the people of the kingdom and she's willing to do everything she can to help.
All of that said, I liked Alac too. As the second son of the King, he feels he doesn't really have a place in the kingdom and at this point in his life, he's fine with that as he'd prefer to have a vinyard. He also doesn't trust the magic his father wields so if he can get away from it and the possibility that he may have to let it inside himself someday, he's all for it.
Long story short, Mara is tapped to help a noble and his followers to overthrow the current King and eliminate him along with his sons. With a bit of blackmail/threatening, Mara joins the insurrection but as she gets to know Alac, she realizes she can't hurt him. Unfortunately, things go slightly awry and the dark magic the king held is released and starts to hurt and destroy the kingdom and it's people.
I won't say much more here as I don't want to ruin the story for anyone. If you're looking for a page turning YA Fantasy, check this one out. I'll definitely be reading more from Boehme when I can!
