Ahhh that ending! :) I can't wait for the next book - grab this book people!

Full review to come.

This was a fantastic addition to the Malediction series. I loved getting to learn more about Marc's story and his relationship with Penelope. It was great to see a younger Tristan.

Check out this series if you haven't already. It is one of my favorites!

The Broken Ones by Danielle L. Jensen is the book I didn’t know I needed. I loved The Malediction series and when I found out this would be Marc and Pénélope’s story I was immediately excited to get my hands on it. If you haven’t read this series, you should fix that immediately and don’t forget to add this one into the mix.

I loved seeing what I would consider the backstory of these characters. Really getting to understand how both Marc and Pénélope had an impact on where the whole series went was fantastic. I also loved seeing Tristan from before Cecile entered the picture.

I don’t want to ruin this story for anyone but if you enjoyed the series, you will want to read this prequel. While I’m sad this series is complete, I loved how it all came together and I look forward to more from Jensen!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the review copy!

I really enjoyed this The Princess and the Rogue (book 3) - Kate Bateman has officially become an auto-buy author for me!

Sebastian and Anastasia are the main characters of this book and I loved their story from start to finish. Anastasia is a Russian princess hiding in London and when she crosses paths with Sebastian...in a brothel no less, things get really interesting. Their story progresses well and there are a few twists and turns that kept me turning the pages.

If you haven't picked up this series...or really any book by Bateman, you should remedy that. The Bow Street Bachelors series has easily become a favorite and I can't wait to see what she writes next.

3.5 stars. I enjoyed this one and even though I haven't read the first eight books in the series, I don't think I missed out on anything. With that said, I will definitely be picking up the rest as I'm curious to know more about Rory's family.

I thought Sands did a great job of building the trust and relationship between Rory and Elysande. She's been through a lot and her will to survive is definitely driving her forward. When she finally comes to realize she can rely on Rory to help her, the connection is clear.

I will be looking forward to picking up more books by Sands as this was a great introduction (for me) to her writing style and with a full cast of highlanders to catch up on, I think I will be diving right in.
