Oh the twists and turns in this book. I loved this book and world that Bardugo created.

I won't do a recap of the book as there are a lot of things that happen quickly and I don't want to give anything away. I will say that there is a lot of action and just when you think you know what will happen, it goes another way.

The characters that Bardugo creates in this story are great - I had a love/hate relationship with Mal. At first I wasn't sure about Alina but she really came into her own. I appreciate her wit and the way she evolved throughout the story. The Darkling was a great character as well. To avoid ruining the story I can't say the reason behind all of this but trust me when I say that when you read the book, you will get it.

The world created in this story is amazing. I don't know how authors do it as I lack the level of creativity and imagination to develop this but...wow.

I will wait (impatiently) for the next book and can't wait to find out what happens to everyone.

**Re-read 12/2012 and had to up my rating to a 5 star....my love of the characters and the story has not changed...it's only become better the second time around. Can't wait for the next book.

Sooooooo, soooooooo, sooooooo good. :) I love this series and the audio was fantastic! I will be diving into the next book soon as I have missed these characters.
