"Hell no, you can’t go to the bathroom. You know where you can go? The fuck to sleep."

This story is absolutely hilarious! I laughed the whole way through. I imagine getting your kids to just go the fuck to sleep is a plight many parents can relate to. The illustrations are also beautiful. Highly recommend to everyone regardless of age or sleeping ability.

This was an enjoyable read, and a good start to the series. I definitely understand/saw the Lord of the Rings/Star Wars parallels that many have expressed concerns about, but I think the author added enough of his own spin to keep the story interesting.

Eragon is very much the optimistic and wide-eyed young protagonist he's meant to be, juxtaposed by the more world-weary and closed-off Murtagh. I really liked both of these characters, and I am looking forward to seeing their development as the series progresses. I also enjoyed Brom as the mentor character. And Eragon and Saphira's relationship may have been one of my favorite parts of the story.

I will say that there was quite a bit of expositional dumping, especially in the first half. It didn't completely detract from the story, but it was quite a bit of background information to throw at the reader all at once and in such an unengaging way.

Overall, this was a fun fantasy read, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

A short but interesting read about the journalists of the Munich Post in Germany as they bravely defied Adolf Hitler as he and the Nazis rose to power. As a journalist myself, it was both fascinating and heartbreaking to read as these men strove to continue reporting the truth, all the while the forces surrounding them turned them into pariahs. They were beaten and sued and eventually the newspaper was forcibly put out of business and the editors forced into hiding lest they be killed, but the message about standing up for what you believe in and continuing to tell the truth really resonated with me, especially in this day and age. I do wish it was a bit longer because I think there is still more to tell about this story, but a good, quick read overall.

Still gathering my thoughts, but overall this was another enjoyable read. The characters are still likeable and enjoyable, the plotline was engaging and some moments really kept me on the edge, and the ending is very bittersweet and gives me all sorts of feels.
