This was so great! So funny I cried with laughter and heart-warming to boot!

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a quick read. I found it pretty mediocre. The two main characters betrayed everything they stand for because they are irretrievably in love with one another, but the build-up was not selling me on their bond. Even if I was suspending disbelief in that front, there was something off with the tone. The plot is pretty over-the-top ridiculous (which is not necessarily a bad thing, it reminded me a bit of Hot Fuzz which is great) but it takes itself too seriously to work for me. 

My previous read was very heavy, so this story was good to follow that up. 

This book is amazing, but it will break your hart. It is just so so so sad. This is also a book that has pretty much all the content warnings, and it's worse than you think it's going to be. I cried... A lot. Mostly sad tears, but also happy ones. 

I kept hoping for a more hopeful ending, but alas. I wished better for Jude, he deserved it.

I know this book is excuse the pun beloved by many people but I think it just wasn't for me. The unusual narrative style kept me from connecting with the characters and caring about what happened to them. It was also a lot more horror-like than I expected. I can see why it is an important novel am not unhappy to have read it, but I didn't like it at all....
