3.5/5⭐️

This was a good, quick read. It’s a solid, slightly creepy YA paranormal book. To be honest I am probably just outgrowing the YA genre because I find the immaturity of characters annoying. However it makes sense when you take into account that they are only 14-16 years old. I did leave feeling a little unimpressed because there’s still so much we don’t know. I don’t think that much actually got resolved and I’m eager to see where the author takes it.

3.5/5⭐️ A very quick read but be prepared to keep going. This ends on a pretty big cliff hanger. There isn’t much to these characters but the plot is pretty good. I do find myself wondering how much of the stuff about Wicca is true. It would be a shame if they gave the wrong impression about the religion. Overall I am interesting in a young witch coming into her own. I look forward to the second book in the series.

3.5/5⭐️This was a good, quick read and a good storyline to continue on for the rest of the series. It’s an interesting perspective on vampires. The vampires run the town of Morganville and most residents are under some form of protection. The vampires are not the main characters, at least for the first book. Unlike a lot of stuff I have read lately, the vampires are all bad guys. I’m interested to keep reading the series. Overall not my favorite vampire story but still worth reading.

This is a good read if you are in the mood for something slightly spooky but not necessarily scary. I enjoyed the characters and it had a good story line. I have already started the second book in the series and I think they are taking it in an interesting direction. I also wanted to mention that I love the cover of this book, it gives a great spooky ghost story vibe.

This is a great read from my childhood. I remember being so excited to get these books from the book fair at school. Though I do not find the stories very scary now, as a kid some of them terrified me. The song "Don't you laugh as the hearse goes by" has stuck with me for years. I was glad to be able to reread and feel the nostalgia. Pick this one up if you're looking for something fun and easy to read in the spooky season!

This would have been a five star read if only the beginning started out as great as it ended. This is definitely a slow burn and you have to be patient to get into the heart of the story. The twisty ending to this makes it all worth it though. It is an interesting take on an origin story for the Sea Witch and I can definitely see ties to The Little Mermaid. I look forward to reading Sea Witch Rising!

Don't go into this expecting it to be like the TV show. While the connections are definitely there from book to TV adaptation the book is vastly different. Character names are different and we see a different sort of relationship between Piper and her fiance and Piper and her former lover. While I love the drama of the show, I really did enjoy the book better and knowing it is the closest to the true story definitely makes it worth reading.
