Oh my GOD. This book had me rolling on the floor laughing and sharing the plot with everyone around me. This is Crazy Rich Asians meets Weekend at Bernie's and sheer perfection. This is a comedic family-focused tale steeped in tradition and expectations. The relationsip between Meddy and her aunties was so realistic, and it shows in Jesse's bio at the end where she mentions how large her family is.

Basically this story is Murphy's Law - anything that can go wrong, will - and I couldn't stop turning the page.

I'm officially a fan for life of Emily Henry. This book had it all - friendship, love, angst, steam... you name it! But most importantly for me, it really portrayed the characters as people. While there was comedy in this, we focused on their personal growth and journey of self-discovery rather than just having funny things happen to them. I related so hard to Poppy as she realized that she was in love with her best friend, because that happened to me.

This book is a vacation from the pandemic and a delectable treat. I'd recommend this to anyone who needs a little bit of spice in their life.

This is one tasty novel, rife with mystery and humor. Plus it's a series?? I can't wait to read more!

I loved Lina as a character and her reactions to the mystery unfolding. She's so relatable and I found myself laughing at her inner monologue. Add to that the delectable food descriptions and focus on family and culture, and you have a perfect book.

I appreciated the disclaimer at the beginning acknowledging some potential triggers and topics that were brought up during sensitivity reading. While they weren't an issue for me, I appreciate the care that went into it.

This was certainly a thrilling thriller. The idea of someone from your past being dead-set on ruining your life through the internet is so scary in these times, and I couldn't put this book down. I did find Allie a bit whiny at times, but she's dealing with so many circumstances that I was able to look past it.

Plus I will say, the plot had me constantly guessing about who the perpetrator would be. The side characters were all so suspicious that it really could've been anyone. Red herrings galore, and I love it!!

I went into this book without reading too much into the blurb, and I was pleasantly surprised with a fresh romcom with a splash of the supernatural. While at times I felt as though the author was trying to do too many things at once, what with the bullying, the panic attacks, and the ghost appearances, I did find this to be an enjoyable book overall. If you're looking for a nice clean romance with some fun humor and a bit of mystery on the side, this one's for you.

Hooooooly cow. This is an addictive domestic suspense novel surrounding the theme of letting someone into your home who isn't what they seem... Our narrator is clever, observant, obsessive - even bordering on sociopathic at times. And even with all of that, I couldn't put this book down. I felt myself getting chills when she described photography, especially with regards to some of the more nefarious deeds she performs. If you're looking for a stalkeresque suspense novel, this may be the one for you.

I needed a vacation from life and this book gave it to me. From the whip-smart banter to the bubbling sexual tension, this was an adorable romantic comedy. It's definitely light on the steam, but I enjoyed that it focused more on Ava finding herself. This is the perfect vacation read, especially if you're heading to a Belizean beach!

Tigers, Not Daughters is a beautiful story about strength in the face of adversity. These sisters face down issues like loss, grief, and abuse while growing together as a unit. Adding in a bit of magical realism, discussion of religion, and a manhunt for a hyena only adds character to the novel. The writing was beautiful, but I had some issues with the pacing that lessened the immersion for me.

This book checked all the boxes for me.

Mystery in a small town? Check
Teens realizing a romantic connection and growing as individuals? Double the checks!
LGBT + BIPOC rep? Uh YEAH.

Then you add on the premise of a ghost hunting television series and creepy dialogue from the perpetrator's perspective? It's sheer perfection and I'll be singing its praises for a good long while.
