I struggled with if this was 4 or 5 star read. I decided to go to with 4, just because it took me a good few chapters to really get into.
But once I was I was captivated.

By the halfway point I felt uneasy about Millicent. Something about her didn't feel right. The stories she told her husband about her childhood made me side eye her. There must of been something she was hiding. I just didn't know what.
Although my theory on her childhood ended up being correct. I was not expecting the twist to be the way it was. I didn't expect so many murders. Especially without her husband catching on to anything.

It took me finishing the book to realise we never actually learn the husbands name. Which interested me. I wonder why Samantha kept his name a secret the whole time.

One thing I've learnt from reading all of Claire's other books is question everyone and everything. Someone may look innocent but anything can happen.
This was no exception. I found myself questioning everyone.
Although I sort of figured things out throughout the book I was still captivated the whole time.
