painfully unfunny, a single mom is stuck parenting the adult men in her life in addition to her infant, stupid conflict, subplot came out of nowhere and was swept under the rug messily, generally just not good

bro….????…….???? what did i just read. this is so completely different from the books i usually read, but something about this book just called to me.
the MC is one of the worst people i’ve ever read about and yet i hung onto his every word.
i predicted the ending, so maybe i’m a genius idk who’s to say.
one of the most disgusting, vile, wretched books i’ve ever read, but an intriguing story nonetheless.
i would def recommend this, but check all trigger warnings bc there are a LOT of slurs. he is a sailor from 1850 after all.
