THIS SERIES IS SOOOO FREAKINGGGG CUTEEEE OMGGGGGGG think something wilder by christina lauren meets the inheritance games by jennifer lynn barnes. however scott eastwood is like that kid in your class that pisses you off every time he gets called on to read from the textbook like he pauses in very random spots but his voice is sexy so it’s okay
i absolutely adored this book!!! i loveee the grumpy x sunshine trope & anita kelly executed it so well. i fell in love with london’s attraction to dahlia and how she intrigued them so much. it kind of reminded me on the tarzan/jane dynamic from the old disney cartoon. they were just fascinated with dahlia and i ate up every single second of it.
plus the cooking show element was so unique!! i’ve never read anything else like it before. READ THIS!!!!!

i was so ridiculously excited for this book like i cannot even begin to explain to you how much i was looking forward to this.
i was obsessed with mia in penny’s book. she was this elusive, sexy, femme fatale character with a golden retriever baseball player absolutely obsessed with her. i mean, what more could a girl want????
but in this book, mia was nowhere near how she was portrayed in the last one. she wasn’t a black cat gf, she was just a selfish bitch AND I DONT SAY THAT LIGHTLY!!!! she took advantage of everyone around her bc of some surface level disagreement with her family over what she should do with her life. it was truly insane reading her try to justify the shit she puts her friends through.
and the worst part is, sebastian let her! he watched as she walked all over him and didn’t say a fucking word. and after the 3rd act drama, it felt like HE was the one apologizing for the shit SHE did.
idk i could fucking talk for hours about how stupid this book is. i’ve decided that grace reilly just isn’t for me. i don’t think i’ve really liked a single one of her books that much.

this wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what i was expecting it to be. still counting it toward my reading goal though bc i read like 75% of it
i feel the beginnings of a brand new personality leeching onto my body like i’m eddie brock (venom reference for those of you who aren’t marvel nerds)
4.5 stars. i wish we had a little bit more closure with her issues with her family
