Cherisse has sworn off dating after a terrible experience with her cheating ex-boyfriend, but her mom is set on making her a wife. She's setting Cherisse up with dates left and right, but Cherisse just isn't into it. Unfortunately, Cherisse's sister is getting married in a few months, so weddings are on her mother's mind. But Cherisse has enough to think about with her booming baking business and being the Maid of Honor in the upcoming wedding. Enter Keiran, a man who may look good, but who really gets on Cherisse's nerves. Keiran is the Best Man in the wedding, meaning that he and Cherry have to work closely together for months... and Cherry may discover there's more to Keiran than she thought. Meanwhile, her mother is still on her case about dating and marriage, and expresses her clear dislike of Keiran. The Truth and Other Hidden Things by Lea Geller
Bells Walker is anxiously awaiting the outcome of her husband’s tenure review at a local college, excited to finally upgrade from their tiny apartment in NYC when he gets it. Harry's been working hard, and having security within the English Department will be a dream come true… Except he doesn’t get it. Now, they’ll lose the small apartment they do have. Thinking things can’t get any worse, Bells realizes how nauseated she is… and throws up in the crockpot of cooking dinner. The only time she’s felt this way before was when she was pregnant. But with two high schoolers and an IUD, she can’t possibly be pregnant, can she?! She can.
When Harry is offered a position at Dutchess College in the Hudson Valley, the Walkers move out of the city, expecting to find a spacious house in a lovely farm-to-table town. In the middle of the country, they find their new house, which is just a little outdated and has… a standalone kitchen. As in, a separate building from the house. The town itself isn’t bad, but is a hipster utopia. Very-pregnant Bells isn’t sure how she fits in here with the other moms of high schoolers, who are chugging CBD-infused soda to deal with their college application anxiety. Instead of making friends, Bells decides this is the perfect time for her to really kickstart her writing career… by writing an anonymous gossip column about the crazy moms in town. Are you cringing? I was.
This book will have you laughing out loud while also touching on what it’s like to feel inadequate as a woman and mother who is looking for approval in others. This was a really great read!

This was a fun read with some great ups and downs in the relationships. I loved the friendships, work relationships, and sister relationship. This was a great summer read!
