I tried immersive reading this as I had a hard time sitting down and reading the physical copy, however after the first few tries I realized I had no motivation to pick it up again. The story was kind of interesting however it just never really sucked me in and I felt no connection to the characters

Everytime I tried picking this up it took me forever to even read one chapter. I just didn't really care for the story

I heard such good things about this, however after I first started reading it I found myself growing bored and just slogging through. I'd pick it up and would read a chapter here and there and just never really enjoyed it while reading it sadly

This was my first book with Fonda Lee's writing and I enjoyed it quite a bit, and enjoyed the faithfulness to all the different martial arts described throughout. I will say I was kind of bored through the first half of the book, but that's kind of my fault for reading tons of martial manhwas! 

The first half of the book definitely felt like it was written for a teenage reader, however during the second half it felt more adult. I will be eagerly waiting for the sequel as I'm curious what happens next!
