Really liked this - I love Lee Mack on WILTY and I listened to this on audio book which I think enchanted my enjoyment.

I found the start of the book where he talks about his childhood and early young life fairly interesting but it got super interesting for me when he started talking about his journey into comedy and eventually Not Going Out. He worked with a lot of great comedians who were also early on in their career and it was just fascinating to read/hear.

I’ve never read any Agatha Christie before and hadn’t seen the film/tv adaptations of this so I went in completely spoiler free.

Short but sweet, I have to say it was an incredibly clever book, there wasn’t really a single point where I was like ‘aha, it was you!’ and I definitely didn’t predict the ending.

I will definitely look to pick up more of Christie’s work in future.

I don’t really read enough sci-fi, especially given it was one of my dad’s favourite genres and I inherited lots of his books.

But I was given this book for Christmas and it may have ignited a sci-fi spark in me - it was fantastic - full of tense moments but full of character development too, I found it thoroughly compelling.

Around a third of the way through it got a little slow but once I pushed through that I was completely captivated and read the last 300 pages in one sitting, so absorbed that I didn’t even really notice how many pages I was turning.

Given it’s not my usual genre I had not much idea what to expect but it was full of twists and turns and enough excitement to keep me enthralled. I’ll definitely be picking up more sci-fi this year!

Absolutely loved this book, I can see it being a strong contender for my book of the year (yes I know it’s only January!).

At times incredibly disheartening to see what women went through, it definitely made me feel very lucky for all the opportunities I have today as a woman, I’m definitely standing on the shoulders of all the women that have come before.

I thought the cast of characters was great, I mean who would have thought of a dog called Six Thirty.  The book jumped around a bit on the timeline which sometimes I hate but actually felt very natural here to make the story develop how it should.

I can definitely see this book making the leap to the big screen soon (if it isn’t already doing so). Really thought it was just incredible.

A lovely read, the characters were great (although I wish I could have bopped their heads together).

I liked the multiple viewpoints but I wish each chapter had started with a name as my tired brain sometimes had trouble realising the character had switched and had to skip back a few pages and read again.

Wow.

I started this book with no idea what to expect (they say don’t judge a book by it’s cover but this one was so beautiful that I bought it purely for the cover and the sprayed edges.

But the book was wonderful, I was immediately absorbed into the beautiful writing, completely immersed in this other world and feeling every single emotion that Hanne was feeling.

I don’t want to give any spoilers but I will say that I would never have guessed how the plot of the book would develop but after my initial surprise I was again just completely swept up in the elegance of the writing and just loved it completely.

A great memoir: raw, honest and emotional.

I was expecting more behind the scenes gossip from Friends, but this was a more unflinching look into Perry’s struggles with addiction and the dramatic impact it’s had on his life.

So yes it was great, but be warned before you go in that it might not be what you expected if you’re used to celebrity memoirs.

I loved the idea of this book and it started off very intriguing, but mid-way through it got a bit weird and hard to follow and the ending was unexpected.

The premise was great but it just didn’t turn out as well as I had expected from the blurb.
