It's always nice to read about queer people, especially queer women from an even more marginalised community (here, Armenian women in America).
The audiobook narrator did a great job, the book was very enjoyable to listen to.
The issue here is that it's basically a romance novel but the romance gave me absolutely nothing. I get that the girls are attracted to each other but I don't feel that much more chemistry. They hurt each other (by dumb decisions) more than they bring each other joy and I just don't quite understand how I'm supposed to believe they end up happily ever after for ever...

I mean yeah, I came to care and feel many emotions about this dysfunctional family by the end of the story. But I was mostly bored throughout 90% of this book.

Would love to reread to give it more stars as i think it probably deserves.
I'm really getting into cosy sci-fi or fantasy!
I love that it's just a bunch of various people / creatures being nice and helpful to one another, forming a found family, without too many "great stakes" or risks.
Books like these are important.
I'd also say they are, for me at least, probably best read with your eyes. (duh?) I mean, physical or digital ebook but not audio. I love audio but with this one i felt like it went too quick and i didn't take the time to appreciate the slow calm nature of it.

Nice cute graphic novel following a young girl names Snapdragon, or Snap as she likes to be called, who befriends the town's weird old queer lady whom everyone thinks is a witch
It's about friendship, discovering parts of family history, saving animals and magic!!
Sometimes we just need some wholesome sweet graphic novels like this one.

Altogether, I feel like this is a good book. It was a combination of a coming of age young adult contemporary, with family drama and a mystery, with a diverse cast of characters.

I must say, I expected the mystery to be a major part of this book and it simply wasn't. Which doesn't make it bad, but it made my reading experience a little disappointing.
It's far more a focus on Avery and how she tries to make her mother reconnect with her grandmother, all while getting over her old life in DC and making new relationships with the people of this new town.

It felt nice to see two black women at different places in their queer journey interact and grow closer.
I must say though, the romance didn't really interest me that much.

What worked best for me was Avery reconnecting with her grandmother and trying to figure out what happend all those years ago: murders, disappearances, and falling outs.
Even though some communication issues could get a little over annoying at times...

Anyway, I loved the whole idea behind people deserving and creating monuments.
The writing, especially in those last few paragraphs, was really nice

So much fun!!
Loved all the Wizard of Oz references but all made sci-fi with space travel, genetic clones, galactic royalty and robots.
The whole robot engineering also seemed really interesting to me and well researched.
Honestly I cant to see what happens next!
