Definitely not as exciting as The Silent Patient. This felt very flat.
That was such a wonderful retelling. I read this book not knowing a lot about Ariadne just that she helped Theseus defeat the Minotaur. I thought the book was beautiful written and told the stories of Ariadne and Phaedra well. It’s such a sad story
I read this book in one sitting! I’m a huge fan of Jeneva Rose. I really enjoyed The Perfect Marriage. I was able to figure this one out though quicker than I would have liked so the twist wasn’t as surprising. It was still a fast-paced read that I couldn’t put down!
4.5 ⭐️I don’t understand the low ratings. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was an easy read and I finished it pretty fast. I enjoyed the story and the way it was told. It reminded me a lot of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
I enjoyed this book, and I didn’t really know a lot about Atalanta going into it. I decided to read some more about her after finishing the book to see how true the book is with the Greek myth. I found the bad reviews to be annoying when it came to this book? I just don’t understand them because if you have ever read Greek stories the women are always used and not taken seriously. Atalanta fought her way to be better than them and to prove herself and at the end of the day the men still refused to acknowledge her contribution to the Argonauts mission. I thought this was pretty accurate with how they viewed women then and how men behaved. I think the author stayed true to the Greek myth without needing to add any embellishments because it’s not necessary.
