Beautiful book. I listened to it this time around, but I'm going to buy it to keep it around. Full of good parables, needed reminders.

Sick at home, used the day to finish this lovely book. I've never taken a hard look or thought onto how trees spread, and the intricate relations humans have developed with trees over our existence. This book dives into the history, inspirational throughout, with quotes on the beauty, ingenuity, and resilience of the oak tree.

At times it can get too caught up in the details, like through intricacies of forest to production to boat building, but they're essential to get a grasp of how symbiotic, crucial this tree is.

Can't recommend enough. I'll probably reread it a couple of times in the future, to remind me how and where humans have come.

Very good. The language was full of description and little quips that helped keep pace and strong the surrealism through well and good. Had moments where I really did laugh out loud while reading.

Really great. Highlights the intersectionality of all the things that have occurred to get to a societal point of where the United States is (relatively recent), some ways to see the system as a whole. Most inspiring and the call to action was to come up with a plan to say yes to, thinking of what the preferred big future could be and saying yes towards that (with a clear plan). More and more inspiring, encouraging, and needed coming to the close of the book.

Very nice, quick dive into the history of Futura. Inspiring to read about, and getting excited about typography again. This book really highlights how much influence and presence that a set of specific alphabetic shapes can pervade everyday life.
