I think this book had good potential, but its downfall was that it wasn't carried out in a manner befitting the potential of such a plot. Instead it came off quite rushed while the main characters were too. . . contradictory.
I felt that the main male character moved on too quick from what he was feeling toward the main female character, and in fact forgave her far too easily, when you were supposed to get this idea that he has been holding onto his anger, his hatred toward the main female for ten years. Ten years is a long time for him to have just so easily forgave her.
The main female character was supposed to be smart, strong, clever when she came off quite the opposite of that the majority of the time; constantly making mistakes that almost cost her very, very dearly. On top of that is the overall story arc which just gets brushed over as if unimportant. Due to the rushed feeling of the story, and the way the main arc was just so brushed over, the romance of the main characters came off extremely cliche, cheesy even, and at times awkward as well, and just did not touch me in the way that it does in most romance novels.
Due to all of these factors the story just felt okay to me. It was a nice, quick read while I had nothing to do though I wouldn't take the time to re-read it in the future.

Inside Joss' Dollhouse: From Alpha to Rossum
Susan Quilty, Andrew Zimmerman Jones, Jane Espenson
I found this book to be an interesting, and even at times insightful, read. The essays chosen are well-written and very in-depth as far as each look into Dollhouse. Reading the opinions of others on a show that I enjoy, and have my own thoughts on as well, was fascinating; even going so far as to at times make me see things that perhaps I did not before or marvel at the fact that I wasn't alone in some of my own views. The essays that Jane Espenson decided on for this novel were chosen well, and that makes me wonder more about those essays that didn't make the cut.
