Oh wow. . . Just when I thought I'd probably give this book 4 stars that ending came along and I have to give it 5. While I wasn't a fan of how much the twins were apart in this book, I do appreciate the choice behind it especially as it allowed them each to grow as their own person. The surprises in this book were mind-blowing and the descriptions were just magical. I loved the worldbuilding and thought it was even better than before. And of course , the narration was fantastic once again. I do hope there's another book in the series as I can't wait.

Parental abandonment should be a warning, but it wasn't an option so I am putting it here.

Oh my, I regret having not read this book sooner! I've been missing out on such a delightful, moving, and creative read and I can't wait to continue adventuring with these fascinating characters. And it'll have to be in audiobook format cause the narrator did such an amazing job! Hopefully I'll be able to do a more in-depth review later as I have many things I want to talk about in relation to this interesting world as well.

Given I was taking part in the 4 Nations Readathon round for July, I needed a book that fit a 'one word' title prompt and remembered that I wanted to read the audiobook. Plus it made sense as well since I wanted to finish this book come August as part of a yearly goal and as part of The Final Book Support Group's 48hr Readathon round. So, I grabbed the book off Scribd and tucked in for a re-read. I knew already that I enjoyed this book — my rating for the Kindle Edition was 4/5 stars — yet I didn't expect the audio would jump my rating up an entire star. The narrator does such an amazing job that it felt like a fresh read. While the content of the book is powerful, and Binti's journey definitely traumatizing, you feel all the things Binti does more strongly due to the emotions that comes through in Robin Miles' voice. A testament to her skill. I was excited to continue on, and finish, this series before, but I'll definitely be doing it on audiobook going forward.

Well-written characters and an enjoyable story. Good for a solid casual read to pass the time. Found the resolutions of some of the problems between the couple solved too fast and the erotic writing to be a bit tame, and limited, for a Blaze novel that sounded extremely kinky at first. Otherwise it's a good read.
The characters were interesting, their dynamic was great, and the plot was not lacking, but overall I felt it went back and forth too much on the main issue; especially in regards to how easily both constantly caved to the other as I felt it went against some of their ingrained qualities, with too little progress then was resolved too easily in the end. The steamy scenes were very hot though. Could've used a little more to make the plot more fascinating. Good for a light read.
The story was too rushed, the characters were too vague and got past some issues I just felt that should've been focused on longer, and things just occurred too easily. Even the trouble they faced felt too simple. There wasn't any real danger, any real threat, to add real adversity to their goal. Both of the character's back stories were supposed to seem mysterious yet came out so easily it made one wonder why they were supposed to seem that way in the first place. And then there was the one dialect issue that happened to be overcome too quickly. All in all it was all too simple, too easy and therefore just too rushed.
