4.5 stars. Creepy, gothic atmosphere and the same stellar writing I always expect from T. Kingfisher. The plot is short and sweet. It could have used a little more fleshing out, but overall it was a really good read. The protagonist is fantastically created and the writing is very emotionally centered, which really made me felt like I was getting to know them. I'm hoping that the plan is to build this little novella duology into a larger unsettling novella series.
