This book is great! It was even better than I had expected. The writing is witty and fun, full of great snark and smart academic and culturally cross-referencing Easter eggs. It's a great read for anyone who enjoys YA fiction.

3 1/2 stars. Review to come.

Review to come.

Wow. I stayed up VERY late reading this one, only putting it down when my eyes refused to stay open. After months of slugging my way through books, I finished this in less than 3 days. Excellent writing and a good plot. It feels like a blending of so many good stories, but still holds its own. Reminiscent of a bit of Hunger Games and Divergent with an added air of Tudor England as well as Roman gladiator days. I can't wait to read the next book in this trilogy. It can't come out fast enough.

This book is one of my favorites of all time and this time around I listened to the audio. Complete win. The narration is fantastic and the atmosphere is really well captured. I know this book isn't for everyone. It's weird, it's a bit out there, and it can be violent at times. But I freaking love it.

Beautiful writing. Sara Taylor definitely has talent. This reads more like a loosely woven collection of short stories than a novel. The chapters connect through a basic narrative, but there is a lack of cohesion that takes away from the overall power of the book. A very odd mix of genres develops in the final 1/3. To be honest, I'm somewhat confused about what I just read. (Full review to come.)

Full review to come, but...

I absolutely adored this book. It has become one of my all-time favorites. Beautiful writing, richly developed characters, and a heart-wrenching love story. I'm not typically a sap when I read, but this one had me. It is one that I will read over and over again. It gave me all the feels...

Still inspiring and funny. She doesn't disappoint. Thank you for another good read Jenny.
