A little slow in some places, but overall a good read. Reminded me slightly of The Shoemaker's Wife in some ways.

It had been years since I'd last read this book. It's smart and applicable to any time. I think it's a good book to learn a lesson from; a warning for what can happen if we don't remain thinkers and instead choose to become complacent followers of any political direction.

I haven't read Mary Higgins Clark since high school. I don't know why I ever stopped. I love her books. This one was a little quirky and not my favorite, but it was still a good read. I never can figure out the "who done it". She's always got a surprise around the corner. Seriously...crazy. This woman survived something amazing. I was expecting weird just knowing it was based on an FLDS background, but whoa...there were some seriously oddball stories.

I am surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. The whole alien invasion idea is not something I would typically have any interest in. I was afraid of not liking it based on that and the warning that I had been given that it started slowly. I didn't have any trouble with that. I jumped right in and kept going. I very much enjoyed it and I have already recommended it to more than one person.

A little different than most of her other books. Still excellent writing. I was somewhat thrown off by the change in narration at first, but got used to it. It makes sense why it's being used after the first few chapters. A fairly emotional read if you let the book get to you, which it tends to do rather easily. I more or less saw the ending coming, but it still wasn't a disappointment. She writes well enough that it doesn't matter if I know what's coming, I still want to read it in her words.

A good, easy read and a quick one. It has a good message. I didn't really feel a "wow" factor with this one, but I liked it enough to read it in less than 24 hours.
