This book nearly killed me. She's a good writer in terms of sentence structure and description, but there was a serious lack of plot direction. The story just blah blah blahed along. For the full review: http://erraticprojectjunkie.blogspot.com/2012/12/under-tuscan-sun-by-frances-mayes.html

Historical novel of sorts centered around a murder trial for a Japanese-American in the years following World War II. I liked it, but I didn't love it. For the full review: http://erraticprojectjunkie.blogspot.com/2013/01/snow-falling-on-cedars-by-david-guterson.html

Once again...I just don't get it. J.D. Salinger is supposed to be this awesome author. I say no. This book bored me to tears. I thought about abandoning it twice...I should learn to go with my gut. The story was a rambling disaster with an uninteresting premise. Thank goodness it was short.

I liked it, but it was weird. Not what I was expecting. (I'll totally admit that I picked it for the cover.) For the full review: http://erraticprojectjunkie.blogspot.com/2013/01/four-for-price-of-one.html

The plot started out very promising, but I got really tangled up and confused about 3/4 of the way through. Not a horrible read, but I got frustrated with the ending. For the full review: http://erraticprojectjunkie.blogspot.com/2013/01/four-for-price-of-one.html

I'll be frank. I really just didn't like her. She annoyed me. I found her to be a flake. The book covers a few years of her unemployment and her supposed journey to become a different and more grounded person. But...I don't think she really changed at all. I had hope, but in the last chapter of the book I found her just as selfish, materialistic, and rude as I did in the first. The only thing saving this from 1-star is that she can certainly be funny and I didn't end up abandoning the book. It was occasionally painful to continue and I would not read it again. Quirky book about teenage life. I wanted to like this more than I did, but...honestly...it was just weird. Not bad, not wonderful...just hanging out in the middle. For the full review: http://erraticprojectjunkie.blogspot.com/2013/01/four-for-price-of-one.html

Good historical fiction, but just didn't grab my attention as much as I would've liked. A good account of the last few days of Rasputin's life and the political situation in Russia at the time.

Started out good and funny, but really just ended up being so scattered that it drove me nuts. Don't get me wrong, I love Ellen...I think she's cute and quirky and nice, but this book was not for me.

I don't normally read non-fiction, but this book was certainly decent. I had a bit of a tough time with some of the characters and their descriptions or speech styles. Overall, not a terrible read and certainly educational, but not really the type of book I would typically go for.
