As part of my 2012 Book of the Year challenge, I have included my review of this book here: http://erraticprojectjunkie.blogspot.com/2012/01/2012-boty-city-of-ashes-by-cassandra.html
A very strange read, but an easy one. What appears to be a very thorough and well written depiction of the autistic mind. For the full review : http://erraticprojectjunkie.blogspot.com/2012/03/2012-boty-curious-incident-of-dog-in.html
Historical fiction, but not my favorite read. A bit of a slow storyline along with a very confusing narration. For the full review: http://erraticprojectjunkie.blogspot.com/2012/02/2012-boty-once-on-moonless-night-by-dai.html
A wonderful idea for a plot, but it fell a little short for me due to some awkward characters. I didn't like this book as much as I wanted to, but I did still enjoy it. There was a lot of potential in this book that makes me think that Ann Pearlman may be an author to keep an eye on. If you need help sleeping, start reading. Do not torture yourself and read this whole thing like I did thinking that it will get better. If you don't like it in 20 pages, you won't like it. It's all the same. For the full review: http://erraticprojectjunkie.blogspot.com/2012/04/2012-boty-girls-in-white-dresses-by.html
Cute and quirky read. A little bit rough on the verbiage here and there, but overall a good book. For the full review: http://erraticprojectjunkie.blogspot.com/2012/05/2012-boty-ella-minnow-pea-by-mark-dunn.html
I had mixed feelings about this book. I wanted to like it more than I did, but there were a few distracting things that kept me from really latching on. The premise for the story is good and the character of Elza is well built, but there were pieces of the story that were needless and simply took up space - occasionally even causing a jarring of the flow. With a little more editing and development, this book could have been great. For the full review: http://erraticprojectjunkie.blogspot.com/2012/04/2012-boty-elzas-kitchen-by-marc-fitten.html
I liked this book, but I didn't love it. The writing is descriptive and good, but the plot just didn't suck me in. I had some issues with transitions and got confused a few times because there seemed to be some choppiness here and there.
I was left wanting more and felt that the story didn't really have the solid ending that I needed.

I received this book as a Goodreads First Read.
A dark and quirky comedy. It read easily, but the characters were a bit over the top. It had a promising plot and the writing is good, but too much on the odd side for me. Not really my style of book, I suppose.
