Cute, cute cute! Mindy Kaling is spunky and quite funny. I picked this book because...well, let's face it...the cover is cute. But I was surprised at how much I ended up loving it. She kept me entertained from start to finish and I found myself laughing out loud more than once. Definitely a "to read"! I loved this book and couldn't put it down. I read it in one sitting. The lack of a linear flow was the only thing that kept me from giving it the full five stars. For the full review : http://tinyurl.com/7zq3v58

I received this book as my first ever Goodreads win. I admit that I was skeptical at first, to be reading a book by a first time author, but I have to say that I am glad to be able to add it to my collection. The book is well-written in a simple, yet seemingly effortless manner. I loved Mira from beginning to end and the journey of the book is easy, a very good rainy afternoon read. Though this is her first novel, Mileti writes as though she has been producing published works for years. Her writing is comfortable and friendly. I particularly enjoy that she knows her field. I would've been sorely disappointed to have a book about a chef and restaurateur written by someone who is only guessing at the details. It is clear that she is a lover of food and the care that goes into preparing it. She also referenced my favorite chefs, which made the book even more endearing to me. I am looking forward to reading more of her books down the line.

I really liked this one. Renewed my faith in historical fiction and fueled my obsession with the English monarchy. I will definitely be reading more of her books.

Read for British Literature course. This was one of those books that I said I would NEVER read. Turns out...I didn't mind it so much.

Not a bad collection of literature and some good examples of literary criticism and essay work. The only complaint I have is from a student point of view. There are several bolded vocabulary words that do not exist within the glossary. It would be helpful if vocabulary was listed at the end of each chapter and if the glossary was more comprehensive.

Fairly cute children's book. One of a series based on the seven deadly sins. Written in the late sixties, it is politically incorrect based on today's standards for interactions and appropriate approaches to teaching moral lessons, but the idea behind it is still somewhat solid. One of these days I'll track down the others just to see how they all balance out.
