Remember children, capitalism bad, men useless, found family trope good, the great depression depressing, women awesome, this book heartbreaking, kristin hannah wonderful writer, and this reader big sad.

This was legit such a fun book to read!!! There were a lot of moments that just felt so victorious to me, I absolutely love it!! Twist! And turns!!

It’s been two days since i finished reading this one and until today my emotion could only be represented with intense keyboard smash... sjdhsjsjsjsjdhhdjshssjdhsjjdejvvqvqvq

Now. Now that’s out of the way, i want to tell you all to PLEASE dear God read this book, please fall in love with hua cheng and xie lian, and let your heart be molded into a thousand different shapes by the gut wrenching story.
And not only that, let yourself witness with your own two eyes the greatness that is himbo Pei Ming, the cuteness of guzi, Eming, and Ruoye, the lovable piece of shit fool Qi rong, and every supporting side characters whom I love and cherish dearly, even the demon baby Cuocuo. Let yourself be broken and reconstructed by 800 years long of yearning, and then get back to me and report about it. Thank you.

Finished reading this book in one sitting. I was so frustrated, angry, and upset about all the things Magi had to endure and the fact that this is just the reality of it, that a culture like this still exists there, is so painful to me.
I have to collect my thoughts before I can write more of it.
