Not gonna lie, this was basically a bad fanfic, the writing was nothing special and I didn't really like any of the characters. I read it cause the movie was amazing and I hate to say it but this is the only example of the movie being better than the book

Was pretty good and a lot of the stories end kinda depressingly so you have to be in the right mood to read it. I probably would have enjoyed the book more if I didn't have to read it for class though

Amazing. This story hit me so hard despite the fact that I'm not black, I read the whole thing in one sitting, everyone needs to read this story no matter their ethnicity. This story needs to be taught in schools, it's message is so important and is conveyed beautifully, I'll definitely be watching the movie when I can but I doubt it'll top this
