I love how real this is. The trilogy presents real issues that teens face, gay or straight.
The characters are probably some of my favourites of all time. I love the character development, and I really enjoyed seeing them grow. The three boys are as opposite as can be, but yet so similar. It just works. I can't choose a favourite between the three; I love all of them!
Kyle and Jason's relationship is wonderful. I like that they were friends first, because it's something that I don't often see. I also like that they have real problems that teens can relate to (i.e discovering all the different sides of the person you're with, and learning to except them). I like seeing Kyle and Jason working to get over their differences and, despite all the stuff that happened, becoming closer at the end.
I think this is a trilogy that everyone should read at some point. Sanchez is definitely one of my favourite authors, and I can't wait to read more from him!

This book is so fantastic! I would love to get my entire youth group to read this; I guarantee it would change their opinions!
I’m so angry at Cassandra Clare for constantly pulling me back into her world with her hilarious dialogue and ridiculously fun plot lines. Will I ever be free of these books? Probably not. But at least hell is entertaining
Anyways, this was a good instalment to the Shadowhunter world! I’m actually looking forward to seeing where she takes this. The majority of the plot was relatively predictable if you put any amount of thought into, but I’ve learned to just shut my brain off and enjoy this series for what it is lol. The epilogue did manage to surprise me though, that’s going to be interesting to see what happens there

Very fun, cute read. Definitely too fast, I wish it had been much longer, but still a good time and worth the read!
I feel like I would have enjoyed this a lot more if the first nearly half of the book wasn’t a rapid recap of book one told from a different character’s perspective. It felt very repetitive and unnecessary, and by the time the actual plot of this book rolled around, I was too bored to care as much as I would have liked. With that said, things did end up getting pretty interesting once they got going. I liked the direction of the plot, and the character development was great. There were some major pacing issues, but overall I’m still excited to see where this series goes!
3.5⭐️
This was such a fun book!! I love any and all mythology, but Maori mythology has been an obsession of mine for years, so this was especially fun for me to read. I would have read it a lot faster, but I kept getting sucked into research rabbit holes every time some creature or god was mentioned, I was having a blast lol. My one gripe was the relationship between Tui and Kae; holy shit was there bickering ever annoying! I get that they’re children, and I did like how their relationship developed throughout the course of this book. But I could have done with a little less bitching between the two of them
