This book wasn’t my usual genre pick but the premise of it seemed intriguing and so I picked it up. Unfortunately I couldn’t really get that into it , or I couldn’t really be captivated enough by the heroine. I don’t believe I’ll be reading the next one , but if you’re into reading into minds of psychopaths and serial killers you will definitely find the thoughts of the protagonist quite interesting and eye opening. To me though I was bored , taken aback and kinda wishing for it to end.

The only reason this book is getting a three star review from me is because it didn’t excite me , consume me or even make me feel the necessary amount of investment into the characters. The writing was majorly great , the format amazing overall not anything bad but to me it slightly feels like a certain oomph is missing.

Ok , I know this book isn’t the best written or the plot that fascinating but just for the fact that it got me out of my long reading slump , I decided to gift it this rating. Though I somewhat predicted the ending , all the things that happened had me shocked and reeling. In other circumstances I would probably give it a 2.5 rating just for the fact that the story didn’t really feel original or that awe deserving, it was a ya fantasy filled with I would say every trope you would fit in this genre. Nonetheless would I recommend it as one of my favourites of this year no … but I will definitely say that it served its purpose as entertainment and in some books that is the only thing you can ask from it.
