Phenomenal. An important story to tell but also told SO WELL. Entertaining sounds like the wrong word but it was a real page turner.

Well that was EPIC.

It was a slow build but the slow build was very pleasant. Then the crescendo really took off in the final chapter or two and it was captivating!

The lascar language and some old English slang was a bit hard to understand at times, but I appreciate how it contributed to the world building and giving life to the characters. You get through it fine from context 95% of the time, but some early chapters with the lascar language were a bit ridiculous.

Really loved it, a murder mystery in a very unique setting. The world building was great and I learnt a lot of new things. The writing was excellent right up until the end - some parts of the ending felt "cheap" and out of place. But still loved it

Edit - didn't realise this was the fourth and final instalment of a series! I was still able to pick it up there and enjoy it without the earlier context

This book was truly something special. It spoke to my soul.
