Woolf's musings on gender, colonialism, and the way the world treats people dissimilarly despite not being so dissimilar themselves. Orlando learns that living in the body of a wealthy nobleman creates a totally different social experience than in the body of a noblewoman. Woolf takes this concept further into the intersectionality of sexism, racism, and colonialism by illustrating the difference in treatment Orlando experiences as a woman living in the Romani colony contrasting to their experience as a woman on the ship sailing back to England. This novel is a beautiful tale, spanning centuries, that can be read with just as much potency as the day it was written. 

Initially the writing came across as abrasive, that abrasiveness faded, however, as the numbers counted up. By the end, although maybe not my world view, I did warm up to the author's voice and quite enjoyed these little writings.
