It was a slow start but when the story got going in part 2 it really came together. I didn’t warm to Fleetwood at first but by the end I was rooting for her, and Alice was a great character from the get go! There’s lots of ambiguity and grey areas which I’m always a fan of, which created more questions for the reader as the book went on. Overall, an interesting and unusual historical read!

A Disneyland-esque theme park with cyborg princesses and a lot of dark secrets? Mixed media storytelling with twists and turns and reveals? YES PLEASE.
Such a creative premise and storyline, with excellent world-building. You could never quite predict what was going to come next, and the character motivations were often unclear and revealed at just the right moment. The only thing that let it down was the ending. There were two big reveals in close succession, and neither felt particularly fleshed out, especially considering the care and detail that had gone into the rest of the book. But aside from that, a great dark YA read!
