Although this book had a good set-up and premise, there was no real drive behind it until the last few chapters. The main reason for the investigation into the murder of a girl seems to be because the main character, Violet, finds her ghost mildly irritating, which doesn't lend itself to suspense. It is a shame - it wouldn't have taken much to make this a gripping, suspense-filled read, but instead it just sort of fell flat.
