I’m all for the male here
This story has funny one liners and quirky back and forth between Claudia and Kael. Kael is wonderfully naïve about anything human/ human form. Unfortunately that’s all the positive I can conjure. The females in this story are less than appealing with their way of thinking and attitude. The spice is okay, but not great enough to make up for the less than charming characteristics from Claudia.
Spoilers:
55% of the way through & Claudia is straight up annoying. I get the link was new and frightening but she became daft when she kept trying to play both sides, and relaying a play by play when she already didn’t trust the NM. She then unnecessarily hurts Kael, blaming him for being exiled and unable to see Amy, and justifies it as “being independent.” She used a bj as manipulation, explains kissing as showing mates affection but then counters that with not wanting to be his mate. And all the while Kael just continues to want to make her happy. She doesn’t mellow out until after 78% through the book. That’s 20% of the book of her going back and forth having a stank attitude.
