anthony bourdain was gifted with the ability of making even the most simple meal sound transcendental.

anthony bourdain describes food so reverently, he makes it seem religious. in a way, food is religion; it unites the masses, and bourdain was so gifted in amplifying that.

a very well-written and sad memoir.

a very profound and interesting novel. the way that djavadi weaved multiple timelines together to create a clear story while also giving each timeline a good proper story...yeah.

i liked it and i thought the system of killing beasts and using them for armor was interesting

honestly the summer trips sound so good like idk i need someone to do that with

at some point the emily henrys start blurring together but not this one! my favorite book from her, probably because augustus and january have such an enjoyable dynamic and their premise is actually more interesting than her other premises i've seen

such a cozy and warm book. it's very soothing

an insightful and meaningful coming-of-age story and one that grapples with the fact that relation and ideation can differ greatly

simple writing but executed brilliantly. i think one of the best things about this book was the friendship and romance that elsie had. her relationships with joan, ada, felix, and ritika...yeah i loved that part
