if you are a young closeted lesbian this book is required reading you need to annotate it and really dive into it. great writing

kinda felt a little disjointed at times but overall i liked it!! i didn't understand the body part chapters tho

an absolutely fantastic sequel to one of my favorite books. samantha shannon is an absolutely phenomenal writer! holy shit i couldn't put this down. so so so incredible. this series is gonna be an all-timer for me. wow wow wow. i loved every single character in this(wulf tho! phenomenal man and i have never said that about a book man ever) my god. incredible book.

enjoyed this more than the first book, probably because it's with two women, but still. i understood the magic system more in this book. the way they all meet each other though...top 10 worst first meetings ever

justice for fremont...we didn't even get a mention and we're in the bay! no but i liked this! it was sweet and nar is literally me sometimes

i wished it touched on more of the side characters but i didn't hate this! i liked the author's book before tho: i feel her writing lends itself to a very action-packed style

emma mills will always deliver a charming love interest, a relatable mc, and a fun group of side characters. i wish it had more focus on the band aspect. sophie and i solidarity(we are both clarinets)

a nice cozy hug. honestly this inn sounds so nice like i'm not gonna lie i would want to go there

excellent. also shows the complexities of war and the effect it has on family, whether it brings family closer or divides them farther apart

a very comforting and lovely story like jamie(? is that his name it's been a while) you are a real man and the kids are so funny!
