It was fine but I never felt much of a connection to the characters so it dragged at parts. I also felt like the switching between storylines/time was a bit of a letdown bc as soon as you would figure something out the characters had to catch up. The whole story just felt like a bit of a letdown bc it was so… lacking warmth from all sides. And while I love dark and sad books, this just felt like it was floating inbetween genres

I’ve never read anything like this and I loved the book from the very first page. First of all, a character index? HELL YEA. even though it was a bit comical, I’ve always said more books need that. This book was hilarious and witty and sad and a mirror to my heart. I love every moment and want to read everything this author has and will ever write.
If you love the heart, sincerity, and quirks of Little Weirds, you’d love this book.

Some translations just read way too choppy imo and this was one of them. It was so difficult to read and I wasn’t invested after almost 50 pages :/

The translation (or maybe actual writing?) just felt SO choppy and difficult to read. This was especially the case for the audiobook. It felt like someone was recording one line at a time and it was spliced together

The entire book was a build up to the end and the ending was FLAT and boring. So little happened that it seemed like a waste. The story itself was interesting and I was invested to see how it was going to end but the execution of the book left me underwhelmed.

I also felt like the book left me with a few questions about what actually happened/was happening with the husband/other pastor. Things were explained but… not really?
