Honestly…. Not the best anthology. The only story I actually liked was the Hat Man one, About a Girl, and kiiiiind of the mysterious package. The 90s nostalgia only somewhat played a role in the stories or was made horror entirely by on what the 90s limited which I think was cheap

Overall it was fine. Exactly what you’d expect. I’m knocking points off bc it’s not my style of book, but mostly bc of the handful of racist/homophobic/transphobic comments from the MCs. The situations where the comments were made were absolutely not called for to advance any plot or give any purpose to the story - they’re disgusting throwaway comments which… hmm wonder what that must say about the author

Re-reading this book, which I was obsessed with all throughout high school, at almost 30 hits DIFFERENT. I’m just as obsessed now as I was then. The raw emotion and pain that the characters feel vibrates off the page and is reminding me that I truly am a bleeding heart, die-hard romantic. I don’t really know what else to say other than you should reread your teenage books every once in a while bc you’ll cry really hard and feel so many emotions. 10/10 no notes. Absolutely obsessed
