This story was fine. Like most of Kingfisher’s stories, I found it really lacking action and I did not really care about the characters

I really wish there was more of an actual connection to the previous books. pretty let down by not having this be a super cohesive series so far and makes me wonder what the next book would look like.

Emily Austin has a way of writing that is way too relatable and holds a mirror to my darkest parts. Excruciating but beautiful. 10/10

Exactly what you’d need from a book like this. Okay-enough character development but also left me wanting more. Which I guess is good since this is a series.
I think looking at this through a Freudian lens should tell you everything you need………… it was definitely written in a ‘92 perspective with ‘92 feminism at the forefront
