Dry, but very well-written; effectively summarizes an INCREDIBLY lengthy trial into what’s necessary for a layman to know. Very informative, particularly with regards to the prosecution, and evidence presented.

Excellent representation on how Russia - and, more broadly, authoritarian regimes - can weaponize their emigre system against both democracies and their own people.
dark informative reflective slow-paced

Informative, but long, repetitive, and confusing. It takes a moment for the book to become chronological, which makes it difficult to keep up with, and consistently repeats known information. A good look into FBI’s failures in counterintelligence, but a little preachy here and there.

Significantly tougher to understand even than Foe, without the payoff at the end. Definitely builds that tense and uncomfortable atmosphere, just without a lot of satisfaction.

One of King’s best. Smart and funny and gut-wrenchingly sad and awful.

Fun and campy! I love Rachel Harrison’s writing style, and I love that she writes female characters that are allowed to be mean and nasty and complicated.

Honestly a little too much going on - too many twists and turns, not enough emphasis on building what he’s established. Character relationships in particular felt utterly insane and unrealistic, and the dialogue/word choice was a little juvenile. Super fascinating world, though, and I will continue.
