A solid retelling! In the vein of Just Ella, but with some Cinder vibes.

I think this book earned an extra star by being something that changed the way I think. Very impressive, and in such a lovely, engaging story, too!

This series is incredible. No spoilers, so I can literally say nothing. Just go read it from the beginning! It will not disappoint. My heart is full.

This book was difficult to finish, but I can see why it is beloved. There are moments that are breathtakingly beautiful or horrifying. I am glad I read this book for those moments alone, and I would recommend anyone else to read it.

I also am glad this book exists. Fantasy stories do not sit and think in this way anymore.
