I had a lot of fun with this book. I like that it's based on the Goatman, a lesser-known but very creepy cryptid. My only complaint is that there are a ton of characters and only one or two of them had enough personality to give them some distinction. Nevertheless, I had a good time with it. 3.5 stars

What a great story! I loved the way the story unfolded. Horrors from the deep are always very unsettling to me, as a thalassophobic. Several scenes had me holding my breath. This was my first William Long book and I was absolutely be reading more. 4.5 stars

Speaking of downpours, it decided to rain the entire 3 days it took me to read the book. That added an ambiance I didn't quite need, as this book is unsettling enough as it is. Downpour takes the normal, the everyday, and turns it frightening. The whole book is fraught with tension and dread. The writing is just delicious. I was invested in the book well before the storm even started. It also punched me in the feelings and left me wrecked. Strong 5 stars for this slow burn.

I enjoyed this book so much! I read a lot of YA horror, and I know that's a turn off for some people. However, the themes in this book are very mature and there is plenty of violence. The action was so great that I found myself reading long after I intended to stop. I ended up reading the whole book in two sittings. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. 4.5 stars

Dry is a heavy, heavy book. The ocean is pretty terrifying in its own right, but a dried up ocean? Deeply unsettling. At its heart, this is a book about family and what choices we would make when the unthinkable happens. This one hurt my heart quite a bit. Beautiful and haunting, I'll be thinking about Dry for a long time. 5 stars

Have you ever wanted to read a book about a hard-drinking poltergeist with his own sit-com? How about sentient broths? A book containing hot, thick, pearly, candy-sweet trouser gravy? (So much trouser gravy.) Have I got the book for you! Zoltergeist the Poltergeist is so much fun, and absolutely hilarious. It's ridiculous in the best way. Lloyd Kaufman would be proud. 4.5 stars

What a sweet, heartwarming story about a boy and his dog. Just kidding, the boy is psychotic, and the dog... Well. I quite enjoyed the story, and the writing is excellent. I definitely wouldn't mind reading more about Austin and Elvis. 4.25 stars

I feel like I should not have been entertained by this book nearly as much as I was. The first half sets up the story and in the second half we get down to some good old-fashioned baby fightin'. If you take the book seriously, you're going to have a rough time. If you imagine it as a Troma movie, it'll go down a whole lot easier. Either way, I'm appalled and entertained. 4.25 stars

This book is just not good. It's not written very well, the dialogue is stilted, and the characters are dumb. I didn't care about any of them, and I hope Mother eats all of them.

I've been on a pretty big western horror kick since last year, and Noose is a worthy addition. It's a classic revenge story with a supernatural twist. I'm glad to hear that there are further stories set in the same world, as I quite enjoyed the characters. 4 stars
