This was... very different from what I expected it to be. While I loved the premise and the main characters, it sadly took way too long before the plot picked up and got interesting. And when it did, I was so disinterested in all of the characters that I didn't really care about the outcome that much. Towards the end I just wanted to be done with the book ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To end on a more positive note: the ending was done really well, and I absolutely loved the relationship between Gideon and Nav.
