Grell was just too flippant about everything for my taste and it made it hard because eventually Ted started not taking things seriously too. This book is stuck in the uncanny valley between serious and parody (closer to the latter than the former), and it's a terrible place to be.
The mystery was meh, the worldbuilding was scant and rushed for the most part. I would've rather spent the time with Sloan and Loch.

I love the idea so much (and the art is wonderful), but the constant interruptions to make a "joke" (look there's a goat eating a can) basically ruined everything for me. I feel like that sort of thing is funny in a podcast but not so much in a graphic novel. I would have much rather have spent those extra panels getting to know the characters because Morgan's shift from no I don't like my father to I believe in my dad came out of nowhere.

The two main characters didn't have consistent personalities. The Medina family was super glossed over which was unfortunate.
Overall, I felt like this was more about advancing the series plot rather than this book's main characters.

The first chunk of the novel was a bit of a slog as Kieran was a bitt frustrating (he knows that wolves without a pack die but when his wolf begins to fade after he isolates himself and keeps pushing everyone away he's confused about why it's happening.)
I'm concerned that as the series progresses that more plot holes will keep opening up. In particular it looks like this series is going to be based of Rick makes the same mistake every book and everyone has to deal with the consequences.

Rhea Ewing sets out to answer questions about their own gender by asking others questions about theirs.
As a queer person I found this book to be informative. I like how accounts that contrasted or sometimes completely contradicted each other were often placed right next to each other. It's a little messy but gender discussions tend to be messy. I appreciated Ewing acknowledged some of their own bias/privilege/shortcomings (like how they just hadn't thought about the intersectionallity between race/ethnicity and gender. My favorite part was were Jac was talking about the importance of developing language and there were the panels that blacked out some of the words; BRILLIANT.
I think this would not be the first book I would give someone if they were trying to learn about transgender people and issues or gender. This would be around the third book I would give them.

The fantasy/paranormal aspect was fun and the kids were adorable (actually I loved most of the pack). The romance was one were you want to feed the characters their own truth serum so they would just communicate.
Also be warned that this book ends on a cliffhanger.

A nearly wordless picture book done in the style of an gold silent movie.
I think I would have found this more enjoyable if I had read it aloud to a group of children (with added sound effects), as it is I found it a little obvious and a lot silent.

A fun book about a house worried that she will not become a home because no one will move in since she might be scary.
This book is charming and heartwarming like Jessie Sima's other picture books. The sound affects and a few actions make this a good choice for reading aloud or story time.
