A little bit of a mysterious spooky vibe, but overall a fun little graphic novel.

This is a beautiful book that is very hard to read (I think I went through a fair portion of a tissue box).

I love that it breaks up Buffalo Dreamer's story and the horror and trauma of the residential schools with Summer's joyful experiences.

I highly recommend reading the book along with the the audio book. I love hearing the Cree words while being able to see what the word looks like and also see the small pictures that begin the chapters.

I think Revenge of the Librarians is better, if only because it is slightly more focused, but this is also super fun.

So sad but something we adults and children alike should learn about.

The first chapter was okay, the second I hated and the rest were really good.

Koishi came off as super judgmental in the first two chapter.

The beginning of this book is very difficult in part because I love all this family and will hurt anyone who hurts them and also because I personally find anything that mirrors current anti-trans movements very difficult.

I’m also not sure if I like being in Arthur’s POV, although his story really needed to be told.

But I do love the addition of David.

I think this novella was horrifying and that it achieved what the author set out to accomplish, but at the same time I hated the protagonist Ellis.

I was especially fed up towards the end when
Jane is dying and Ellis keeps begging Master Collins for food but doesn’t do anything when she KNOWS WHERE FOOD IS. Also I don’t believe her love for Jane at the end when she butchered and ate her - she still knows where food is.
