A good anthology, but as with any anthology, some stories work better than others, and for this reason, I don't ever see an anthology being my pick for the PK Dick award. My personal favorite story was Trademark Bugs: A Legal History, by Adam Roberts.

You should read this book.

Especially if you’re at all concerned about social justice issues, especially if you’re white, and especially if you think you’ve got all this stuff figured out already (but, of course, if you don’t fall into any of those buckets, you should read this too). It’s not always an easy read — not because the reading or the concepts are difficult, but because it asks you to take a difficult look at yourself — but it’s an extremely good and very necessary one.

_The Nemesis From Terra_ (1945 Retro Hugo Best Novel winner, awarded in 2020): Rather amazing to think that this is just a year before Asimov’s _Foundation_ win. If this was the best of ‘45, that was a bad year for SF.

_Collision Course_: Shaky first half, but the latter half actually reminded me of TOS Star Trek’s “Errand of Mercy” (two warring races forced into detente by a third more powerful race).

A gorgeous look at the visuals of Trek’s ambitious first film, and a great companion to _[Return to Tomorrow](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24057200)_. Highly recommended for TMP fans.

The latest in this series of comic anthologies written and illustrated by indigenous creators drawing upon their cultures to create SF/F short pieces.

As with any anthology, some entries resonate more than others, but this is a good selection, and I really enjoy reading storytelling from backgrounds other than my own.

A sweet and nicely non-stressful (as in, no major drama or conflict) romance between two lower-class women in Edwardian England. Many nice historical details about the time…and oh, yeah, occasional explicit sex scenes.
