I was hoping for fun adventure and got something that felt a bit more like The Road but with talking animals. It wasn’t BAD it just wasn’t what I was hoping for and the pacing was a bit weird.

This was a decent enough book. The autistic rep was wonderful. I did find it kind of dragged a bit in spots and it felt like a lot of names to remember but overall I am glad I picked it up.

What a wonderful middle grade book. Well done from top to bottom and highly recommend.

I’m so confused. This was a lot of pretty words and like…no plot? 

I don’t feel like I’m smart enough to “get” this. Might try again some other time.

I came for the aliens. I am 15% in and there are no aliens. Just a lot of names and some Chinese history. Just not working for me.

This just...is not for me. I gave a good go and Tom Hanks is a fantastic narrator (duh) but I just cannot find it in myself to care.
