"And he was obsessed with the book. The Green Book. With someone who twisted themself around like the twisted ones..."

This book gave me the creeps in the best way possible and I found myself struggling to read it in the dark without feeling uneasy.[b:The Twisted Ones|42527596|The Twisted Ones|T. I have read two of T. Kingfisher's works so far and I really appreciate that I can tell the two different voices from the stories are different. I really enjoyed Mouse's perspectives and it made the story feel real with the way she would question reality and sometimes her own reactions to what was happening around her.

I am not familiar with "The White People" manuscript by Arthur Machen but I think it is so cool and interesting how Kingfisher took that manuscript and a letter by Lovecraft and twisted it to make something new with it.

I started this book with such high hopes! I really enjoyed the descriptive writing. It really felt like I was experiencing Italy and traveling with Mallory on an art tour and who doesn't enjoy a secretive adventure full of action, romance and treasure?

I could not find it in myself to like our main characters however. Something about them never caught my attention or interest and I found myself wanting to get back to the adventure instead of focusing on their stories.

Her mind was a one-screen movie theater, the only film available was Final Destination: Baby Edition, and that horror show was playing on repeat." Follow Me: A Thriller is about two twin sisters: Chiara and Adrienne. Chiara goes missing after going to an influencer event and after a year with no answers Adrienne goes on the search to find out what happened to her sister.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story telling in this book. We start the story with Chiara's point of view and then switch to Adrienne's as we get more and more into the mystery and detective work. Even when I figured out 'who done it', I was still invested with finding out the why and how and could not stop flipping the pages to see what would happen next.

Thank you to Thomas & Mercer and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was such a sweet little romance

Felix...The world is a scary, evil place," she said softly. "There are so many of us hiding in plain sight. People won't let us be here unless we make it clear we're here to stay. Do you get what I'm saying?"

Thomas nodded. "Yes, but I'm not brave enough."

"You're very brave. You're still here, and that's all it takes."

I knew when I got this book I would enjoy it so it's really refreshing to have that confirmed!

A Song in the Dark is about our main character Thomas who has been sent on a mission by the god of the ocean to help save the mermaids. Unfortunately, Thomas has been sent on this mission during the lowest part of his life while he is struggling to find who he is and how he fits into the world. Through his adventure he meets new people who quickly become friends and help him open up about himself and how he sees the world.

I really enjoyed how the story was written because we got information we needed right when it was important to have and it really helped shape the story so we could see everything through Thomas's eyes but also have that secret insight of a reader. I found this story very engaging and I loved getting to know the characters. The friendship was my favorite part of this book and how supportive and loving the group is.

I disconnected from the ending a little bit because it felt a little abrupt but honestly I think it ended how it needed to and I am looking forward to the next book.

Overall, this was a great adventure and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a found family, coming into your true self, fantasy adventure!

Thank you to Anna Svoboda for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I really enjoyed this book! I found myself captured by the story of witches, and then the hooks sunk in deeper with the Nightshades.

The found family in this story gave me warm fuzzies like I was part of the group. I related to the characters, and I was invested in their individual stories.

I have not read any of the other Whatever It Takes books in this series, but the Witches of Silvershire read very well as a standalone. I'm excited to go read more of this series!
