Easily one of the best things you’ll read in your life AND HOW COULD SHE LEAVE US AT THE END LIKE THAT

Ok, everyone said this graphic novel was basically the cutest thing ever but NOTHING will prepare you for how cute it is. Nothing.

What happens when a figure skater with an infinity for pie joins his college hockey team? Well, of course he:

1. Learns that beautiful ice dancing is a tad different than body slamming, teeth jostling hockey. But he’s up for the challenge…mostly.
2. Figures out that he can bake in even the grossest man-boy hangouts.
3. Vlogs. And it’s freaking adorable. I would follow that channel.
4. Falls in love.

I finished this book on the beach and I was practically showing everyone around me. LOOK AT THIS BOOK. READ IT. BUY IT. MARINATE IN IT. Because it is perfect. There is so much heart in this book as well as a bunch of laughs.

Whose ready to go to a hockey game?

I have been waiting for Rev’s story since we met him in Letters to the Lost. I imagine that Brigid felt the same, which is how we got this book. And now we are all in need of a hug and a ten boxes of tissue.

Probably the hardest part about reading this book was waiting for the audio. Letters to the Lost was so incredible on audio and More Than We Can Tell does not disappoint.

Rev has a past, one that we saw in Letters to the Lost, one that we saw him hide in his black hoodies and slightly distant relationship with his amazing adoptive parents. We get to peel back the layers in More Than We Can Tell and watch him develop closer relationships with the people that matter most to him, including the girl.

Emma was so fun to get to know. She has her own demons in the form of her parents, who have grown distant from each other and also seem to have trouble relating to her.

Come for the incredible writing, stay for the characters. That’s all I can say.

At the end of this book, you’ll find yourself wondering about these characters. What happened after the ending events? How is everyone fairing? I like to think they’re all enjoying the summer weather, together. <3

Do you like sleep? No, you don’t, if you’re reading Spill Zone.

There is literally not one component of this story that is not creepy. The premise, the voice, the art…It’s the most uneasy feeling reading it. Which is why I couldn’t wait for Broken Vow.

Book one left us on a huge cliffhanger, desperate for answers. Broken Vow delivered that and more. When you thought the creatures and zombie-like bodies couldn’t get any creepier, they do!

Two sisters, one creepy doll, and a boy across the world hold our attention in this one. What’s the tie between the spill in America and the one in North Korea? More than you can imagine, I promise.

There’s not much I can say about the story other than the art is as much a storyteller as the words are. Pay attention to the use of colors and how the panels are laid out to attract your attention. Scott and Alex work well as a creative pair!

Absolutely fantastic. One of the best reads this year and I’m so thrilled it won’t end with season 1. Fans of Serial and all true crime shows will love this.

I will read anything Gwenda Bond writes and it comes as no surprise that I am absolutely OBSESSED with her latest Serial alongside Carrie Ryan and Rachel Caine.

Dead Air is so much more than a “Serial” port. Serial Box fully takes advantage of their unique method to create not just a story but an experience for readers. Serials are already coupled with text + audio and Dead Air comes with the added bonus of the podcast featured in the story! Such a cool element. It’s like you’re immersed.

In Dead Air, we meet Macy, and her alter-ego Mackenzie. See, Macy is a quiet, non-imposing type while Mackenzie puts herself out there - literally on the air - to bring justice to Peg’s murder.

The internet has made amateur sleuthing a possibility for just about anyone. I mean, we just saw a decades old case get solved because someone’s distant relative uploaded their DNA online to find their ancestors. We also live in the age of Netflix true crime dramas, where the court of public opinion gets to try not only the defendant but the experts involved in the case. Dead Air is a perfect complement to the current landscape.

Gwenda, Rachel, and Carrie did such a fantastic job laying out the details of the crime that I actually googled to make sure it wasn’t a real case.

And, of course, this wouldn’t be a Gwenda Bond story if there wasn’t a romance that becomes complicated. I don’t want to say too much but I am totally shipping the couple in this story.

I can’t wait to listen to the matching podcasts (but wait - there’s more!) and return to the world of Dead Air…until season 2.

OH BOY! Romance + Sci-fi = LOVE and that is EXACTLY what you'll get in Jus Accardo's Infinity. I was immediately attracted to the beautiful cover and stuck around for the amazing description. Secrets! Interdimensional travel! Secretive boys from other dimensions! YASSSS.

Real love started in your heart and went straight to infinity.

I basically devoured this book from the moment I started it. Our main character, Kori, is a slightly rebellious teen reminiscent of Banksy. Kori paints murals to deal with the grief she has after losing her mother. Her dad won't talk about it so what's a girl to do other than deface public property? Ok, fine...She could have found a more legal outlet but I digress. While painting one night, she runs into an ultra creep, who turns out to be an interdimensional traveler set out to kill all Kori thanks to a pretty ridiculous grudge.

Hope could gut you in the end.

Enter Cade and Noah, set to babysit Kori while her dad is away. After Kori decides to play with her life some more, Cade and Noah divulge that they are travels from an alternate dimension where Noah is Kori's brother and Cade is her boyfriend. On the run they go, trying to escape similar outcomes to their home dimension.

Promise me you'll live your life in vivid color.

Infinity is constant action, there's never a slow point. In addition to all the interdimensional issues, you get the backstories of all of the characters. How Jus pulls this off in 320 pages is nothing short of amazing! She weaves characters and dimensions in her beautiful writing that will keep your attention through the end.

While the story is driven within a sci-fi setting, it never feels too heavy. Same with the romance. Nothing comes off as forced. I love that there's resolution but the end is left open enough for a second book. If you've read other interdimensional love stories and enjoyed them, I highly recommend picking this one up!

Having read (and loved) Infinity last year, I was so hyped for Omega. All of the things I loved then - the characters, their chemistry, inter-dimensional travel, edge of your seat action - return in full force in Omega.

All the versions of us have this crazy connection. He wasn’t in love with me—I was never in love with him—but it’s like we couldn’t help ourselves. That’s why he was so vehemently against anything ever happening between us. We were drawn to each other—like we are. But you didn’t have an Ashlyn where you come from, and I had a Noah. He might not have been my perfect Noah, but he was all I got and for as long as I live, I will be thankful for him. Your perfect Ash might be out there somewhere. If you don’t let me help you get your friends back, you’ll never have the chance to find her.

Told in multiple points of view, Omega tells the story of Ashlyn and Noah while keeping Kori and Cade as secondary characters to the next phase in the Infinity series. Jus pulls back the layers on the onion as the story unveils itself, going deeper and deeper into how truly evil the creator of the Infinity project is.

If I said good point, then I was a heartless bastard willing to sacrifice an innocent girl to save his friends—and a liar. If I spoke the truth, that I would rather hack each of my toes off with a machete then tap dance through a vat of salt before letting her hand herself over to those bastards, then I was insane. One of those freaks who believed in love at first sight. Which I wasn’t. I was…what the hell was I?

I have to admit, the whole time I was reading, I felt a massive case of whiplash. There was so much going on all the time and I was constantly shocked by how deep some of the history of the project goes. The sci-fi elements work in tandem with the slow burn romance. Jus is a master at the zingers - sentences or short passages that leave you breathless. Again, if you love sci-fi books with character chemistry, I highly recommend this series!

It’s always really fun to see characters get some redemption.

There’s a Supernatural reference and that’s all you need to know.

I am an Ann Aguirre fan so Like Never and Always was an auto buy, listen-on-release-day read. This one definitely did not disappoint.

One thing I love about Ann is her ability to write across many genres, with romance being a central plot point in her stories. I’ve read her scifi, contemporary, romance, and now thriller-speculative-contemporary and she makes it work, drawing you into the characters. Liv is one of those characters that you grow to love deeply as her story progresses.

See, Liv wakes up in the body of her best friend after a devastating car accident. Like Never and Always is her journey of reconciling the life she lived, the life Morgan lived, and the life she now lives as Morgan - but without Morgan. It’s easy to suspend belief here because the science is not central to the story - the emotional journey is. Ann carries us through all of the stages of grief.

On the flip side, Liv must solve a mystery left by Morgan…and the stakes are high. I found myself unable to take my earbuds out because I wanted so badly to know the future (and past) of Liv and Morgan!

I would recommend this story by audio. Emily Bauer portrays emotions and sucks you right into the story. Her voice felt very natural and I easily settled in.

Fans of Before I Fall and If I Stay (two of my fav books) will love Like Never and Always!

I love that this book never takes itself too seriously.
